Just over 3,000 tickets have been sold with the old venue's information on them. New tickets are being printed and will be in outlets early next week to reflect the Downsview address change. Until such time however, you can purchase with confidence the outlet tickets with the Parkshore address. All Parkshore Golf Resort tickets will be honoured at the door, and there will be no need to make an exchange.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful summer so far. I have three updates for you (auditions, TIMA, an upcoming newsletter/article and upcoming podcast).

AUDITIONS:
Several auditions have been held recently. We do appreciate all the voice samples and enthusiasm.

So how do you hear about future auditions you ask? Public searches are posted on my web site at www.vocalcoach.ca under the “What’s Happening” section. Private searches are not posted so keep your eyes and ears open as they are usually filled through word of mouth.

We are experiencing a shortage of male vocalists meeting the requirement for the jobs so forwarding this or audition notices to other vocalists is always appreciated.

JAZZ VOCALIST JOHNNY FAVOURITE - Newsletter/Article:
Jazz Vocalist and Juno Winner Johnny Favourite launched his cd entitled Troubadour in May 2010. It has reached #4 on Jazz Radio in Canada. That is a tremendous accomplishment in such a short time.

Some of you many know his Executive Producer Brian Hetherman. Brian is a consultant to CMW (Canadian Music Week) and sits on the Board of Directors for FACTOR. Brian contacted me to work with Johnny on his vocals in preparation for his cd. It was a pleasure to work with both of these industry professionals.

The music business has two aspects. One is the music business and the other is the business behind the music business. It’s important to know which one you are in, particularly if you want to reach a radio audience, work with the caliber of industry professionals needed to produce a competitive product and get appropriate distribution. I look forward to presenting the newsletter/article to you as a learning tool for anyone pursuing a career in music. The newsletter will be sent out later this summer so keep an eye out for it.

5th ANNUAL TORONTO INDEPENDENT MUSIC AWARD CEREMONY (TIMA):

I am very happy to be a presenter at this years TIMA Award Ceremony taking place on Friday July 23rd at the Phoenix Concert Theatre.

4. Vivian Clement – Podcast Series: Many of you may know Vivian Clement. She airs a podcast geared specifically to women in the music business. I will be featured in an upcoming podcast talking about voice/singing/the music biz from my side of the fence.
